A) WAITING ON GOD
FASTING
This is the first commitment we should make so as to make successful this time of comming to closer to the Lord in prayer.
1) We have to make a commitment, a real commitment to God and ourselves. This will lead us the the second factor..
2) We will be equipped with the weapons for prayer:
– Prayer is essential to God
– Putting God to work.
– God needs people who pray
James 5:13 NIV
The Prayer of Faith
13Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. 14Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. 16Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.
James 15:7 NIV
7If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.
3) The 5 W’s of prayer:
• Who should pray? Anyone! These verses tell us that anyone who needs God’s help or anyone who has received God’s blessing should pray — and that is all of us.
• What should we pray about? Anything! We should pray for healing when we are sick and for forgiveness from sin. We should offer prayers of thanks when we are happy, and ask for help in times of trouble.
• When should we pray? Anytime! If we should pray when we are in trouble, when we are sick, when we are happy, or when we have sinned, that is just about any time, isn’t it?
• Where should we pray? Anywhere! These verses don’t come right out and tell us where we should pray, but I figured it out. If we should pray any time we need God’s help, then I guess it just makes sense that we should pray anywhere we are, because wherever we are, God is there!
• Why should we pray? Because God answers prayer! These verses tell us that prayer is powerful and effective and that if we will pray, God will hear our prayers, heal the sick, and forgive our sins.
B) PRAYER AND THE MIRACULOUS
We live in a time when miracles are normally associated with “Men and Women of God”. We hear onf miracles once in a while and from special services only.
We need to study the book of Acts carefully to find that us, individuals are capable of a prayer life and in faith can perform miraculous acts in Jesus Christ our Lord.
Remember that the holy spirit came for us all not for a chozen few. We need to Wait on God,Have Faith and Pray and all these things shall be added unto us.
Praise the Lord!!!
